Mochi Donuts and Boba Near Colton, CA

Colton is the closest city to us that is not Loma Linda, and the trip is short enough that calling it a drive oversells it. Redlands Blvd connects the two directly, so there is no freeway involved unless you want one.

The trip from Colton is the easiest one on this list

Head east on Redlands Blvd and you arrive. There is no interchange to negotiate, no merge, and no stretch of the 10 where you sit still watching the Colton Crossing. For most addresses in Colton this is a five to ten minute run depending on lights and time of day.

If you are coming from the Mount Vernon Avenue side or from up around Reche Canyon, the 10 east for a single exit is marginally faster, but only marginally. Surface streets win here more often than they lose.

The practical version: a Colton run to this shop is shorter than most people’s commute to work, which makes it a genuinely casual thing to do on a weeknight rather than a planned outing.

Why Colton in particular ends up here

Colton is a working city with a lot of shift work in it, sitting on top of one of the busiest rail junctions in the state. That produces the same pattern we see in Loma Linda: people who are free at hours when most dessert places are closed.

Our 9 PM close is the piece that matters for Colton specifically. Getting off at seven and wanting something afterward is a normal Tuesday, and the options within a few minutes of Colton that are still open and still making drinks to order are limited.

The other Colton pattern is families. Fleming Park, the Colton High side of town, and the residential grid around it produce a lot of after-practice and after-game traffic. A shop where a nine year old and their parent both find something they actually want is a more useful stop than one where only one of them does.

Start with a dirty soda

If you are coming from Colton for the first time, the dirty soda is the item we would point you at. It is the least intimidating thing on the menu, it is still recognisably a soda, and it is the one most people in this area have heard about without having tried.

The build is fountain soda plus cream plus flavoured syrup plus something fruit-based. The cream is what makes it dirty: it clouds the soda and takes the sharp edge off the carbonation, so it lands somewhere between a soda and a float.

Order it alongside a mochi donut and you have the pairing that this whole shop is really about. Chewy against fizzy, sweet against sweet in two different registers.

What else is worth the trip

Korean corn dogs are the item that turns this into an actual meal. Yeasted dough rather than cornmeal, rolled in cubed potato, dusted with sugar before the sauces go on. Reviewers name the potato original and the potato with cheese by name.

Boba covers the drink side if a dirty soda is not your speed, and the strawberry jam lemonade is built with real jam instead of syrup, which matters more than it sounds like it should.

Croffles round out the dessert side: croissant dough pressed on a waffle iron, so the edges come out crisp and layered while the middle stays buttery. Six flavors, by the single or by the box.

On Colton proof, honestly

We do not yet have a Colton customer story to put on this page, and we are not going to write one. The three Google reviews we have are published verbatim on the reviews page, names attached, nothing edited, and none of them state a city.

That is the current state of it. If you drive over from Colton and it is worth telling somebody about, a review is what turns this into a real Colton page instead of a geography lesson.

Colton questions

How far is Mochi n’ More from Colton?

Roughly three to four miles, or about five to ten minutes without traffic. Redlands Blvd runs directly between Colton and our address, so no freeway is required.

Is it faster to take the 10 from Colton or surface streets?

Surface streets more often than not. Redlands Blvd east gets you here without an interchange. The 10 saves a little only if you are starting near Mount Vernon Avenue or Reche Canyon.

Are you open after evening shifts end in Colton?

We close at 9 PM seven days a week, which covers most evening shift changes. Ordering ahead online means you are not waiting at the counter when you get here.

Is there anything here for kids after a game at Fleming Park?

The dirty sodas and mochi donuts are the two that land best with kids, and both are quick. The shop is set up so adults and kids are ordering from the same menu rather than one settling.
